Tobari Quiet Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-24
Tobari Quiet ("the app") is a Safari Web Extension that gives web pages a quieter presentation. The app does not collect any user data.
Data we collect
The app does not send any user data — name, email address, location, browsing history, identifiers, or anything else — to any external destination, including the developer's own servers. The app does not include any third-party SDK for advertising, analytics, or crash reporting.
Information stored on your device
The app stores only the following information locally on your device (browser.storage.local). All of it stays inside Safari and the app; none of it is transmitted externally.
- Display settings: the global on/off state, the selected preset, how much of the page to quiet (colors, images, etc.), appearance (auto/light/dark), and how images are adjusted
- The hostnames of sites you have chosen to disable individually ("Disabled on this site")
- Diagnostic information (error messages when a save or an update could not be applied)
- A settings change history (the most recent 20 entries: when a setting changed, which one, and its old and new values; entries about disabling a site include that site's hostname)
To quiet a page, the app reads and modifies the page's appearance (its DOM and styles) locally, but never stores or transmits that content. The app reads the current tab's URL locally only to decide whether to apply your settings; it does not store tab URLs.
Sharing with third parties
As described above, the app does not send any data to third parties. The app does not block or modify network traffic, so the page you are viewing communicates exactly as it normally would.
